Q-Park share issue raises 200 million euros
Parking operator Q-Park has redeemed the bridging loan used for the purchase of the Scandinavian parking company Carpark by issuing new shares, all of which have been taken up by existing shareholders. The share issue represents a value of 200 million Euros.
“As a result of the trust that our shareholders have in us, we were able to further realise our strategy. They confirm once again the trust in the company’s course and enable further organisational growth,” says Ward Vleugels, Chairman of Q-Park.

First ‘Tsunami scholarship’ awarded to Indonesian student
The first ‘Tsunami scholarship’ from the University of Maastricht and Q-Park has been awarded to Rosaria Indah of Indonesia, who will be attending a master’s programme at the UM for the next two years. She plans to apply the knowledge learned to reforming the medical programme at her university in Banda Atjeh based on Problem Based Learning. Rosaria Indah was 8 months pregnant when the tsunami hit her home town on 26 December 2004. She experienced the disaster and aftermath first hand and lost five hundred relatives. “I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. All of the knowledge I gain here can be applied directly in Indonesia.”

More Growth in 2005 for Parking Company Q-Park
The annual report by Q-Park’s Executive Board shows that in 2005, the European parking company’s turnover rose to € 234 million (2004: € 201 million), a 16% increase achieved by means of organic growth and acquisitions. The number of parking spaces rose from 185,000 in 2004 to 204,000 in 2005, an increase of 10%. The balance sheet recorded a 17% rise from € 1,133 million in 2004 to € 1,331 million in 2005, while the overall return increased from 13.8% in 2004 to 13.9% in 2005.
