Bicycle parking

Solutions for bicycles as well as cars

More and more people are using bicycles to get around in urban areas. For example, to get to the station or to travel the last part of their journey when they arrive. Cyclists want to park their bikes as quickly and as safely as possible, yet some municipalities consider the large number of bicycles parked around popular destinations as unsightly and thus a problem. This calls for convenient bicycle parking, preferably in purpose build facilities.

Promote cycling & cleaner squares

This is why we have parking facilities that include bicycle parking, because cycling is increasingly becoming an integral part of the transport network in cities. By enabling bicycle parking in our facilities, we support municipal campaigns to substantially increase cycling in their cities, as well as their efforts to clean up squares and streets, keeping pavements for pedestrians.

Cyclist-friendly car park design

Features of our cyclist-friendly designs include:

  • Entrances and exits specifically for bicycles

  • Elevators with opposite doors

  • Shallow slopes to transport bicycles up & down

  • Floor height adjustments to enable vertical bicycle parking

And for the combination of motorist, pedestrian and cyclist safety we have:

  • Separate zones for each traffic flow

  • Transparent dividing structures for social safety

Benefits

In urban transport, cycling, especially with e-bikes, is now at the cutting edge. By being part of the infrastructure to increase cycling, we contribute to a variety of inner-city benefits:

  • health and wellbeing

  • enjoyment of the surroundings

  • ease of travelling within the urban area

  • overall traffic reduction

  • cleaner air

Partnership with e-bike-to-go

In collaboration with ‘e-bike-to-go’ Q-Park offers electric bikes at a few pilot locations. This enables motorists to travel the ‘last mile’ from where they park to their final destination in the inner city. A good example of Q-Park as a ‘smart mobility’ hub.
