Q-Park and Connexxion extend their collaboration

Due to its remarkable success, Q-Park and Connexxion have decided to continue the Park+Fly programme that they started in 2015. Holidaymakers and business travellers can park their car at the Q-Park Spaarne car park in Hoofddorp and be off within minutes by bus to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

By buying a combined ticket for bus and parking space online in advance, at a price starting at €2.50 per day, travellers are assured of one of the cheapest parking options around the airport. This integrated service is a perfect example of smart mobility.

During the day, Connexxion buses stop at Q-Park Spaarne Gasthuis every six minutes and take travellers to Schiphol within a mere twelve minutes. “This is a good example of smart mobility,” says Eric van Eijndhoven, managing director of public transport at Connexxion. “Travellers can simply book a parking space plus a guaranteed fast transfer to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. This makes Schiphol that much easier to get to, and it’s a sustainable solution too.”

Smart mobility

“All the more often, our customers combine different forms of transport to get from A to B”, according to Mark van Haasteren, managing director of Q-Park Netherlands. “In these smart mobility concepts, high-quality parking locations are increasingly developing into mobility hubs. They are not just a final destination, they are also a point of departure for the rest of the route and so form an integral part of the travel experience.”

Van Haasteren adds: “We are constantly looking for partnerships like this where we can create a single, integrated chain that centres around providing a comprehensive service to travellers. Park+Fly is a good example of this. Together with Connexxion we are investigating the options for other innovative mobility concepts.”
