Mojo and Arriva team up with Q-Park for Pinkpop

Pinkpop festival organiser Mojo has joined forces with public transport provider Arriva and car park operator Q-Park. They have introduced the Park+Train concept to festivalgoers.

Using existing parking and public transport facilities near Heerlen and Maastricht stations will reduce traffic congestion at Pinkpop's major car parks. This will improve festivalgoers' travel experience. And because they travel part of their journey by public transport, there’s less impact on the environment.

Smart transport required

Pinkpop has a capacity of some seventy thousand visitors a day. Festivalgoers come from all over the Netherlands as well as from abroad. Managing the logistical challenge of such vast visitor numbers requires proper coordination by all partners in the mobility chain. The aim being to make the festivalgoer’s journey as smooth and convenient as possible.

Attractive offer with maximum travel convenience

In the new smart transport model, festival visitors can buy a combined day ticket for:

  • parking at one of seven Q-Park locations in Heerlen and Maastricht. Q-Park has allocated a total of 1,800 parking spaces to this scheme;

  • the Arriva train to Landgraaf station;

  • the Arriva shuttle bus to the Pinkpop terrain.

The combined ticket includes parking for one car and the return journey with Arriva for up to five people.

Visitors can book tickets through the Pinkpop website, which directs them to a special event parking page on the Q-Park Netherlands website. This travel option clearly appeals to festivalgoers coming by car as Park+Train tickets for the final festival day sold out at lightning speed.
