Q-Park acquires Bavaria Parkgaragen

Strengthening its position in the German parking market

Q-Park announces the acquisition of Bavaria Parkgaragen, marking its second major acquisition in the German parking market this year. With this strategic move, Q-Park consolidates its position as a leading operator in parking and urban mobility across Western Europe, and particularly in Germany.

The acquisition allows Q-Park to leverage Bavaria Parkgaragen’s expertise, its prime city-centre locations in Munich, and complementary assets in Berlin and various Bavarian cities. Together, Q-Park and Bavaria Parkgaragen will expand their shared purpose for sustainable mobility solutions and seamless parking services across German regions, reinforcing Q-Park’s role as a sustainable mobility partner for cities and their Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).

The joint ambition focuses on:

  • Facilitating the sustainable use of cars, both stationary and on the move.

  • Designing smart Mobility Hubs with advanced infrastructure, including EV charging stations.

  • Reducing unnecessary car journeys through digital solutions.

  • Enhancing urban liveability, economic vitality, and accessibility.

Following a thorough due diligence process, Q-Park has acquired 100% of Bavaria Parkgaragen, with the transaction successfully closed on June 30.

Earlier this year, Q-Park acquired ParkOne. With the addition of Bavaria Parkgaragen, Q-Park has successfully established a strong presence in the affluent Bavarian market.

Frank De Moor, CEO of Q-Park, said: "The acquisition of Bavaria Parkgaragen strengthens our clear growth path in Germany. Especially in Bavaria, we are building a solid foundation to further realise our purpose of sustainable and smart urban mobility and to deepen our collaboration with cities and municipalities."

Frank Meyer, Managing Director of Q-Park Germany, added: "We are pleased to welcome the experienced Bavaria Parkgaragen team. With this acquisition, we are not only strengthening our market presence in Munich and Bavaria but also introducing our successful digital services such as the Q-Park App and online pre-booking. This expansion enables us to offer even more value to landlords, businesses, municipalities and customers in one of Germany's most dynamic regions."
